What are the functions and characteristics of the tension leveler?

Tension leveler is mainly composed of three functions. Like the front and rear tensioning rolls for stretching, the straightening roll system for straightening, and the bending roll group for bending.

The main function of the tension straightening process is to improve the shape of the strip. After the strip is stretched and straightened by bending, some tension levelers can eliminate the edge wave, middle wave and other wave shapes of the strip steel, as well as C-shaped bending and L-shaped bending, thus improving the flatness of the strip steel. The second is to improve the processing performance. The strip steel will have less or no yield platform during the subsequent deformation through the same tensile bending effect as the finishing, so as to produce uniform deformation and improve the processing performance.

The tension leveler has a series of advantages over the traditional straightening method. Compared with the driven roller leveler, it has compact structure, light weight, convenient maintenance and easy operation. Compared with the driven tension leveler, the tension applied to the strip steel is small, the strip will not break, nor will it affect the quality of the strip, and the energy consumption is small. Therefore, the tension leveler is widely used in continuous production lines such as galvanizing, color coating, continuous annealing, pickling, etc. The straightening thickness range is 0.2~6.0mm, and the general working speed is 30~700mm.

Why is the tension leveler equipped with a stretching device?

Tensioning rolls in front of and behind the tension leveler are the most basic and indivisible part of the tension leveler process. The earliest tension leveler is a pair of tensioning rolls. On this basis, bending and straightening devices have developed into a tension leveler, so its role cannot be ignored. Although the principle and structure of the tensioning roll group in the tension straightening process are not very different from those of other tensioning rolls in the production line, their functions and driving methods are essentially different from those of other tensioning rolls.

The tension of the tension straightening section is the largest part of the production line. Except for the finishing machine and coiler, the tension of the production line is mostly used to ensure the normal operation of the strip steel. The tension of the tension straightening section is used to make the strip steel produce plastic deformation, so a higher tension is required to achieve this purpose. The front and back two pairs of tension rolls of the tension leveler are both in the speed control mode. The tension roll at the inlet side is generally used as the speed reference roll of the production line, which also shows the special position of the tension roll in the whole production line.
